Mariposa Piece Makers
January 2019

Happy New year!!
Our next meeting will be Saturday, January 12th at St. Joseph’s Church in the lower hall at 9:30 a.m.
Helen and I will be presenting a tutorial on English Paper Piecing .Colette will present our next Block of the Month which will be Brother John. Please bring your block from November to display which was called School Girls Puzzle.
We will also have a demonstration on how to make pillowcases by Kim. We would very much like to donate some to the We Care organization that provides a quilt and pillowcase to those displaced by recent fires, especially the Camp Fire. The best way to learn the method for pillowcases is to bring supplies and lay them out and pin them as Kim teaches us. If you want to do this, bring:
one piece of fabric 28” X 42” (or width of fabric)
one piece of fabric 3” X 42” (or width of fabric)
one piece of fabric 12” X 42” (or width of fabric)
These can be coordinating fabrics or all the same fabric
About 20 straight pins

You should also bring your quilt of valor 12 ½” blocks to this meeting as it is time for us to put together the quilt tops.
In summary, you can bring 3 things to this meeting: the last BOM block (School Girls Puzzle, your 12 ½” patriotic block for quilt of valor, supplies to lay out and pin a pillowcase.  (or you can bring nothing and just come and enjoy our company!!!!)

PS: January 12th is our Sew and Tell.  We always receive inspiration from the projects you have finished. See you soon.
